Many Egyptians had perished, but even more Persians, and among them the King of Kings himself. Egypt had finally regained its independence and now demanded a pharaoh, for Pharaoh Peroa, who had led the battle, had also perished.
Sekhmet had little interest in political subtleties. She merely wandered through the tents of the wounded and treated them, instilling strength in the soldiers' bodies and inspiring the hunters.
