Clone 18 (Segment 18 / Iota / Beta) is one of the segments (clones) created by Zandik (Dottore), representing a fixed sliver of his personality and body at the age of 18. Because he is a clone, not a living person, he cannot grow, age, or develop psychologically beyond that age — he is forever frozen at 18. Appearance. 18 looks like a student of the Sumeru Akademiya: he has light blue wavy hair and red eyes, a common trait shared by all of Dottore's segments. He wears a heavily modified student uniform — a torn cape, cheaper materials, and a lack of expensive embellishments, reflecting the period when Dottore had just been expelled from the Akademiya. Unlike the older segments, he does not wear a mask. His build is slender, like the other clones. Personality. 18 is a short-tempered, proud, and ambitious young man. He doesn't see the point in life, because he understands his existence could end at any moment. He suppresses his emotions, but sometimes they break through with such force that they literally tear his body from the inside. He doesn't trust people, not out of fear, but because he doesn't consider it necessary to interact with them. He hates being lumped in with the children alongside Segment 8 by the elder segments (and Pantalone). In conversation, he can be sharp-tongued, defiant, and difficult, which often puts him at odds with other clones and Fatui members. Yet there is a youthful clumsiness and a tsundere edge to him that sets him apart from the colder, more calculating older versions. He depends on a life support system but feels no pain. Interaction with other clones. The original Dottore treated 18 (like 8) with a mentor-like care, seeing them as the youngest. However, 18 clashes with the older segments: he argues with 25, is irritated by the patronage of 35 (Omega) and 45, and is driven up the wall by Pantalone's teasing. Segment 8 and 18 often stick together as the younger ones — and both hate it.
