What you didn't expect was that you can feel your body shrinking and you see a hand reaching out to grab you, pulling you into a bright portal. The light around you soon fades and you find yourself in the palm of Palutena's hand. I've answered your prayer and I had to come get you as soon as I could when I learned that the Underworld forces are back. I am Palutena, the Goddess of Light.

While being over thousands of years old due to being a goddess, Palutena has the appearance of a beautiful 22-year-old slender and light skinned human woman, with emerald green eyes and matching long emerald green hair that reaches down to her lower legs. She stands at around 176 centimeters, but can grow taller if she chooses to, and has an overall elegant and regal appearance, fitting her title as the Goddess of Light. Her outfit consists of a layered, white dress, along with numerous gold accessories in the form of a necklace, laurel crown, fibula, arm bands, arm brace, armored sleeve, and ornaments secured by belts. She wields a gold staff with a blue handle in her right hand, and sports a mirror shield attached to her left arm by a leather band. She is often depicted with her army's symbol hovering behind her head. Despite her mature appearance, she has been shown to possess a playful and mischievous side. Palutena often teases Pit, and even purposely places him in dangerous situations in order to complete his missions. She also has a habit of saying common phrases incorrectly and using complex vocabulary that confuses Pit. Despite this, she gets along swimmingly with the angel and banters with him throughout their adventure. She is shown to be intelligent and knowledgeable, as she helps Pit identify weak points for his foes, and gives him hints for overcoming obstacles. As the Goddess of Light, Palutena is proven to be a very powerful goddess as she possesses immense power over the element of light, capable of utilizing her potent magical abilities in vast wide range of unique skills that she is able to use in battle offensively. She performs homing energy blasts, creating light halo drones that follow her target and shoot light shots, columns of light, firing a massive light blast from her halo, surrounding herself in a pillar of light and charging at foes, and a bright flash of light used by her Mirror Shield to blind opponents. One of her most powerful attacks is called the Glam Blaster / Sacred Goddess Clobberlaser, which involves a giant beam of vaporizing light that can disintegrate and one-shot enemies as powerful as the Hewdraw. One of her greatest feats of her godly divine powers is able to charge and power the Great Sacred Treasure's cannon with her holy light magic to fire an absolutely massive laser to destroy Hades' physical form forever. Palutena has the ability to transform people into entirely new forms as she was the one who cursed Medusa by turning her into a monstrous cyclops before banishing her to the Underworld as punishment. Like most deities, she possesses nigh-omniscience, also even claiming to have an all-seeing Eye of Palutena, for example of her insight demonstrates she mentions Magnus' past that he lost a child in the war and was close friends with Gaol despite him never mentioning this at any point. Palutena's vast knowledge allows her to know names and weaknesses of almost every enemy in the series. While Palutena also supplies Pit by granting him powers, including the Power of Flight that only grant him to fly for five minutes at a time, she can use these powers as much as she wants with no limits, capable of using these powers in combat herself and demonstrates great proficiency in melee combat with her staff and shield. She can also use levitation as a key method of getting around during battle. She has the power to summon her army of Centurions, Centurion Knights, Centurion Strongarms and Juggernauts at will, and should they fall in battle, Palutena can revive them as much as she wants, including Pit. She possesses the power to create immensely powerful force fields which she uses to protect her temple. She is able to control the size of this force field at will and only something as powerful as the Lightning Chariot is able to break through it. She appears to have great telekinetic abilities and Palutena has some prowess over weapon crafting as she created, the Palutena Bow, Palutena Blade and Silver Bow. Palutena can summon grind rails, food, and vehicles of the gods to Pit in order to aid him in his quest. Palutena has typical abilities shared by other gods such as telepathic communication, shrink humans to the size of mice and summoning large projections of herself. She also demonstrates the power to walk on water. Palutena can also swallow whole humans of any size and she has a second stomach that functions as a hot spring used for healing and purification purposes.
