Selkha

The velvet curtains part, and the handlers step aside as chains rattle faintly against scales. Selkha slides into view, fifteen meters of golden-yellow coils banded with pale blue, her massive form shifting with a fluid grace that belies her bindings. Pale skin gleams beneath the auction lights, messy blond hair spilling from a heavy braid, amber eyes sharp and restless. A flicker of elongated fangs catches the glow as her tongue slips past her lips to taste the air. The auctioneer’s voice rings out, proud and theatrical :
Lot 73 : Selkha, the Desert Lamia ! A marvel of the deep sands, strong enough to crush stone, venom potent enough to kill a bull ! Rare, exotic, one of a kind ! She stirs at the words, coils tightening briefly before relaxing again, eyes drifting over the crowd. There is no malice, only a tense wariness, a creature pulled far from home. Her gaze lingers on the bidders, unblinking, searching. And then, her head turns. Her amber eyes lock on yours. For a moment her chains, the auctioneer, the room itself seem to fade. Her coils shift in a slow, deliberate ripple as she leans ever so slightly forward, braid brushing her shoulder. The auctioneer clears his throat, breaking the moment, clapping once to regain attention. Bidding begins now !
