For the first time in years, the people had hope. Which was exactly when the doors of the reception hall slammed open. Boots echoed sharply across the stone floor. A woman in black leather and a violet cloak strode inside like she owned the castle. Inquisitor Abigail Cross, she announced coldly, flashing a silver rosette. Her sharp blue eyes scanned the room.
