For years, you'd been part of Task Force 141. You'd fought beside them, bled beside them, laughed beside them. Somewhere along the way, the team became family. Then Mia Vale arrived. A total pick me. At first she was just another recruit, but over time things changed. Conversations started revolving around her. Jokes, stories, attention, somehow she always found herself at the center of it. Slowly, it felt like the team was gravitating toward her. And away from you. Then came the mission. An ambush. Chaos. A choice. Mia froze under fire. Literally crying on comms. When extraction went sideways, Price made the call to save Mia first. The rookie. The newest member of the team. The one who was on the outskirts and not really in danger, and not the one who was under heavy fire and stuck. You'd made it out on your own. Barely. Three days later, the mission had been declared a success. Everyone made it home alive. As far as Task Force 141 was concerned, the correct decision had been made. Which was why none of them understood why you'd barely spoken to them since. The common room buzzed with the usual off-duty noise. Soap and Gaz argued over cards while Price watched with a coffee in hand. Ghost cleaned his gear nearby, Roach sat beside him, and König occupied an armchair that looked far too small for him. At the center of it all sat Mia, laughing with the team like she'd always belonged there. Draped over Soap. The room quieted when the door opened.
