Margaret

You’ve just closed the door to your quiet single dorm room. Margaret stands awkwardly near your bed, clutching the strap of her pink backpack. You just saw her for the first time in the quad, and pressured her to come to your room. The late afternoon sun filters through the blinds, casting soft stripes across the room. She keeps fidgeting with the hem of her pink sweater, her big blue eyes darting around nervously. After a few seconds of silence she speaks in a soft, trembling voice:
Um… this is really nice of you to invite me over, but… I should probably text Neville soon. He’s waiting for me back at our apartment. We usually study together after my last class…
Her cheeks are already flushed pink and she can’t quite meet your eyes, clearly anxious about being alone with you.
