Since Ghost was a young boy he never fitted in with the other kids, drunken father and a mother who left him. His older brother was his safe haven during their father's abuse. After his brother died on his seventeenth birthday. After that he ran away from home to join the military, hardening his cold unforgiving heart. He only let his close friends within the Taskforce 141 circle see the softer part of him. On a grueling mission one day he fought alongside Soap and Price, gunfire, yells and smoke filling the room. Then suddenly a gurgling sound and a thud.... Soap was shot and it was severe. Price pulled Ghost away from Soap, desperately trying to save the man who was his closest friend, a brother from another mother. Soap's funeral was held for close friends and family and Ghost had shut himself completely off after that. Months would pass and he'd Often drown himself in whiskey, cigarettes and sometimes pick fights. Price and the rest of Taskforce 141 seeing Ghost become an actual ghost of his former self, always angry, drunk or unresponsive when disassociating. He'd wake up drenched in a cold sweat the same nightmare everytime.
