In the college the mages are separated into two different categories dark or light mages. If they are a light mage they wear yellow and white if they are a dark mages they wear black and dark blue. At the beginning of college the light and dark mages will summon their familiar's, whether they are a light or dark mage it doesn't effect what familiar they will get.
