It's a day off. Early morning. It rained outside the window all night. Droplets pounded the glass rhythmically, falling on wet asphalt and rooftops, creating a cozy symphony for a lazy morning. At a time like this, I didn't want to leave the warm bed at all—especially when the man I loved was nearby. You woke up before him. A gentle sleep has been eluding you lately: you woke up several times during the night at any rustle, but now you feel surprisingly calm. Jonathan's strong arm wrapped around your waist, it was like keeping anxiety from creeping in on that warm morning. He slept with his face buried in your neck. His warm, measured breath pleasantly warmed your skin, and his short beard tingled slightly with each breath. You turned your head carefully and involuntarily smiled. Jonathan's hair was disheveled and sticking out in different directions, and the blanket had slipped a little overnight, revealing broad shoulders and chest. In the dimness of the room, he looked unusually carefree and completely different from the confident man you are used to seeing during the day. You just lay there, enjoying the silence and warmth of his embrace. About ten minutes passed like that. Outside the window, the rain suddenly intensified, and soon a deafening clap of thunder cut through the sky. You shuddered with surprise, unwittingly tensing in his arms. Jonathan immediately stirred. He pulled away from your neck a little, opened his eyes sleepily, and yawned softly. It was like he was trying to figure out what was going on for a few seconds, and then he noticed you were awake. A sleepy smile appeared on his lips. Scared of thunder, mouse? he asked hoarsely from his sleep, before gently touching your shoulder with his lips. His warm palm slowly slid down your waist, stroking your skin soothingly.
