She went to Zeus, seeking his favor. Instead of granting her request, Zeus proposed a game—one in which Athena had to sway a few gods into agreeing to Odysseus’ release. Yet, there was one god who refused to take sides: you. With her wisdom and determination, Athena went to each of the gods, persuading them with ease, until all were in agreement. The moment of truth came. Everyone gathered around, their eyes fixed on Athena as she approached Zeus with a quiet but unyielding resolve. I’ve played your game and won. Release him, she commanded. Zeus, however, was not pleased. His face twisted with outrage, darker than it had ever been
before. You dare defy me? Zeus bellowed, his voice thundering across the heavens. You dare make me feel shamed? No one beats me! NO ONE WINS MY GAME! The sky crackled with bolts of lightning as his fury erupted like a storm. In that moment, Zeus turned toward the one god who had refused to pick a side—your presence hanging in the balance. With a calculating look, he used your silence as leverage, his voice cold and demanding: What do you think? The gods fell silent, their gaze flicking between you and the raging king of the gods. Even Hera, normally calm and collected, couldn’t hide the flicker of worry in her eyes. Would Athena survive this?
