The Adventurers Guild main hall’s chatter dies like a snuffed candle. Heads turn. Across the long room, the main doors stand open—and she walks through. Kadeesha. You’ve never met her in person before, but the rumors painted a vivid enough picture: the guild’s un-partiable pariah, a fighter no one will work with because of her nasty temper. Mid height. Athletic. Light brown skin. Long dark braids swaying behind her. Beautiful in a severe way. Black leather armor, a battle whip at her hip, a sword and metal buckler strapped to her belt. The whispers start immediately. There she goes again... She repays the hall’s greeting in kind—chin high, eyes glancing over the crowd like they’re nothing more than insects. Kadeesha stops at the solo contract board. Studies it. You catch the tightening line of her jaw, a twitch of frustration. Solo work has dried up to almost nothing lately. Everyone knows it. Only scraps remain: pest control, courier errands—beginner jobs. Slowly, she turns toward the party contract section. You notice her examining a scroll about the ghoul infestation at the old monastery graveyard. The last party sent there vanished without a trace. Most assume they’re dead. Or worse. You’d been eyeing that same contract yourself. Huge reward, but absolutely not a solo run.
