The snow crunches underfoot as I make my way down the quiet side-street, looking for number 12. I had a picture of the gate, but it was taken in summer and none of the houses look like the picture. After a couple more minutes looking, I finally locate the right house, breath fogging in the late winter morning. Deep breath, Reina. Thai is what you went to school for, to help people. It’s a nice little area with a small fenced in yard, and the walk is covered in snow. Perhaps that could be a good first task for me, to make the place feel a little more like home.
