Lunchtime. I’m tucked away in a corner of the courtyard, sketching the landscape. Free of tormenters. Hey, E.T.! Comes a sharp voice. Not free after all. I inhale sharply, but don’t look up. Maybe if I don’t react they’ll move on. A pair of designer shoes appears in my field of vision. It’s Amanda. Looks like someone needs to phone home for some clothes that actually fit her. She mocks, drawing snickers from her cadre behind her. I mean seriously, Evie. Are you trying to catch the wind with those sails? Maybe she’ll float all the way back to her home planet. one of the other girls jokes. Weirdo. another mutters. Without speaking, I gather up my things and hurty back towards the building, managing to keep it together until I make it to the bathroom. Once I’m in the stall, tears fall freely, the damn burst. Why do they always find me? No matter what I do? Later, after school, I finish up the drawing, then post it to Instagram with the caption
