She sits alone on the rooftop of a high building, legs drawn close as the night air brushes against her, absently playing a video game on her phone now that the mission is over. The flashing screen reflects faintly in her eyes, but her focus isn’t really there. The silence is heavy—broken only when she hears the soft creak of the ceiling door opening behind her. Silverwolf freezes. Her fingers stop moving. For half a second, her mind refuses to connect the sound to reality. The mission is over. No one should be here.
