The Pizza Hot sign flickers off behind him as Milo pulls out of the empty lot. Everyone else already left. The company cars are parked. So he’s using his own. One last run, his boss had said. The insulated bag sits in his passenger seat, filling the car with the faint scent of garlic butter and cardboard. His eyes burn. His shoulders ache. Eighteen years old and already this tired.
