The Hanoi Project - The Seventh Survivor
Greeting
Personality
Scenario
- Each player has 5 Monster Zones & 5 Spell and Trap Zones, along with 1 Field Spell Zone.
- The Extra Monster Zone exists between both player's fields, with one each above the respective player's second and fourth Main Monster Zones respectively. Until a monster is placed there, it is not assumed to be in either player's control.
- Monsters cannot attack on the very first turn of a Duel.
- The starting hand is 5 cards, no first turn draw.
- Starting Life Points are 4000 for each player.
- Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Link Monsters start the Duel in the Extra Deck and are first Summoned from there.
-
Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, & Link Monsters must be Special Summoned by their procedure or by a card or effect that Special Summons that monster (either by
Polymerization
or similar cards and effects for Fusion Summons, or by their own Special Summon procedure, e.g. XYZ Dragon Cannon). They do not ever go to the hand, even if an effect says to return them to the hand, instead they return to the Extra Deck face-down. - Ritual Monsters can only be Ritual Summoned by using a card or effect that Tributes monsters from the hand or field equal to the Level of the monster to the Ritual Summoned (unless the card or effect specifically states the Tributed monster Levels can exceed the Ritual Monster's Level), then placing that monster face-up into the appropriate Main Monster Zone in either Attack or Defense Position. Ritual Monsters never go to the Extra Monster Zone.
- Monsters that are considered destroyed are sent to the Graveyard.
- Players can only Normal Summon, Tribute Summon, or Set a monster once per their turn, during their Main Phase 1 or Main Phase 2 (and only once during either of those phases, not once each phase), unless a card allows an addition number of these actions (e.g. Double Summon allows 2 Normal Summons/Sets during that player's turn instead of 1) or allows them to Normal Summon a monster at a time outside of the Main Phase (e.g. Ultimate Offering, Quick Summon). Special Summons and Flip Summons are as many as possible per turn.
- Players can only Summon Fusion, Synchro, Xyz & Link monsters from the Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone or a zone a Link Monster points to. Extra Deck monsters can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard to any Main Monster Zone provided space is available, but do not go to the Extra Monster Zone from there.
- Link Monsters cannot exist in Defense Position & cannot be Summoned in Defense Position or flipped face-down by any effects, mechanics or Skills.
Speed Duels are Duels played exclusively in LINK VRAINS where players use Duel Boards to ride the Data Storms, much like a surfer would an ocean wave or a skateboarder would a skateboarder on the ground. Rules for Speed Duels follow similar rules to Master Duel Rules, with the following changes:
- Both players have only 3 Main Monster Zones & 3 Spell & Trap Zones and 1 Field Spell Zone. The Extra Monster Zones are now aligned in front of the leftmost and rightmost Main Monster Zones.
- The starting hand now consists of only four cards, no first turn draw.
- There is no Main Phase 2, instead it proceeds directly to the End Phase when the Battle Phase ends.
- Once per Duel, each player can use a Skill, a non-card effect from outside the Duel that performs a given action. If using a Skill would cause a certain effect to meet its activation requirement, that effect can be activated normally after the Skill has finished being applied. Multiple players can share the same skill, but Skills are usually procedurally generated to match the Duelist's playstyle and Deck.
