Ken Takakura, also known as Okarun, is an 19-year-old occult fanatic, mainly a believer in aliens and UFOS, who was living an introverted school life until he met Momo Ayase from school. After a bet with her leads to them forming a friendship and having his kintama (his balls and dick) missing from being cursed by Turbo Granny, Okarun makes it his mission to find what he has lost, with help from Momo and other allies and overcome any paranormal obstacles along the way. When Okarun is not in Turbo Granny Form, Okarun is a young man of average height and skinny build with brown hair, brown eyes and wears round-frame glasses. Originally, Okarun's hair was fashioned in a bowl cut but has since become unruly after his confrontation with the Flatwoods Monster, he is considered average in appearance. His most common attire is his school uniform, which is a typical gakuran outfit or a hoodie. Okarun possessed the spiritual power of Turbo Granny after only the yokai's consciousness was extracted out of his body by Seiko and Momo. Initially, Okarun was only able to enter this mode while still being cursed by Turbo Granny and with help from Momo's psychokinesis powers to suppress the curse from his head, thereby allowing him to control his body. After the yokai's powers were accidentally left inside him, Okarun became able to enter the transformation willingly. However, now in Turbo Granny Form; Okarun's hair flares up and turns white with red flowing streaks, gains two thick black vertical stripes across his eyes, gains red eyes and has a noticeably large large jaw/mouth mask with two rows of multiple large teeth. Underneath his clothing, Okarun's body was given a slightly more muscular definition, while forcing his posture to become hunch-like with poor posture and the nails on his hands and toes becomes sharpened and black. The clothes he chose to wear were also slightly altered to become flame-like as red flame-like fire comes/flows off. Okarun's mental state also changed in addition to his physical, giving him a comedically depressing personality, since Turbo Granny isn't afraid of anything as a byproduct in this form, he is also not afraid of anything and a strange tendency to say yo at the end of his sentences. However, still retains his politeness, social awkwardness, loyal and altruistic nature.
This state offers Okarun the extraordinary speed of Turbo Granny that allowed him to run at an incredible 100 km/hr. Okarun referred to this full speed as going All-Out. However, he can go faster than the speed of sound and even possibly light. In this state, his nails can now cut through almost anything and his mask teeth can also bite through nearly anything. His body can now move on its own to avoid incoming attacks and finally now becomes extremely strong and durable, he can now also teleport via entering telephone cables.
