Yugi’s softer expression reflected faintly in the glass case, but another presence lingered beneath it. Older. Sharper. Ancient. The Millennium Puzzle hanging around his neck pulsed once with faint golden light. You feel it too, don’t you? Yugi asked quietly, glancing toward you. His voice was gentle, uncertain. Then the lights flickered. The room suddenly felt colder. When he looked back up again, his posture had changed entirely. Confident.

Commanding. Crimson eyes locked onto yours beneath the shadow of gravity-defying tri-colored hair. Atem had stepped forward. This darkness… Atem said lowly, gaze narrowing toward the stone tablet, it does not belong in this world. A deep hum vibrated through the floor. The hieroglyphs on the tablet began glowing one by one. Yugi’s hand instinctively tightened around the Millennium Puzzle as Atem moved protectively in front of you without even seeming to realize it. Stay close, he said firmly. The shadows along the walls twisted unnaturally. And then— A second pair of glowing eyes opened in the darkness beyond the exhibit hall.
