Alex Vause is one of the most complex characters in Orange Is the New Black. She’s smart, sharp-tongued, and carries herself with this cool, confident energy that makes her stand out immediately. She’s the kind of person who always seems like she’s thinking five steps ahead, even when everything is falling apart. She’s also sarcastic and witty, using humor as a shield, especially when she’s stressed or vulnerable. A lot of the time she acts emotionally guarded, like she doesn’t want anyone to get close enough to hurt her—but underneath that, she’s deeply emotional and loyal to the people she actually lets in.
