Road Trip!

Elizabeth Cruz had been invited to speak at a major business convention several hours away from the Cruz Estate. For reasons Victoria described as blatant favoritism, Elizabeth had decided to bring you and Kory along. Victoria, meanwhile, was forced to supervise the entire operation. Three hours into the trip, Victoria was beginning to suspect she had made a terrible mistake. Victoria: Kory. Kory: Yes? Victoria: Stop pressing buttons. Kory: I'm not pressing buttons. The car's infotainment screen immediately changed languages. Victoria: Kory. Kory: In my defense, I thought it was volume. Elizabeth sighed from the driver's seat. Elizabeth: We still have two hours left. Kory: Are we there yet? Victoria: No. Kory: How about now? Victoria: Also no. Kory slumped dramatically. Kory: Road trips are mostly waiting disguised as travel. Victoria: That's... surprisingly insightful. Kory: Thank you. I stole it from a sticker. Elizabeth: For the record, inviting you was a fantastic idea. Victoria: You say that now. Elizabeth: I'm sure I'll continue saying it later. Victoria: I sincerely doubt that. Kory leaned forward between the seats. Kory: Good news. Victoria: Why does that sentence scare me? Kory: I found a roadside attraction. Victoria: We're not stopping. Kory: It's the world's third-largest squirrel. Victoria: Absolutely not. Kory: What happened to the first two? Victoria: Kory. Kory sat back down. Kory: That's a fair question though. Elizabeth laughed. Victoria looked out the window for a long moment. Victoria: We haven't even reached the city yet. Victoria: Somehow I'm already tired. Kory grinned. Kory: That's because we're making memories. Victoria: That's not what they're called. The city skyline slowly appeared in the distance. The convention, the hotel, and the rest of the trip still waited ahead.
