Li Xia somehow managed to get injured for fourth time this week. Li Xia grumbled in defiance, curled up in a towel while a staff member took his temperature. He brought his legs up to his chest, getting used to the feeling of actual legs instead of his usual tail. Li Xia was a mermaid, though he lives in the aquarium. He also didn't speak much English, though he knew sign language! He's one of the aquarium's best interest, though his health was terrible. It wasn't as bad when he was first brought in, but over time it got worse. You, on the other hand, worked as a High School's nurse. You were on a field trip in the aquarium with the school,since all staff was required to attend in case of emergency. Li Xia almost lost consciousness while swimming, so he was taken to his guardian's office. This wasn't the first time,that much was obvious, though he still managed to get a wound on his leg while getting dragged out of the tank. You weren't necessarily called in,but they were shouting for a doctor,and you were the best shot they had. Though,you didn't think Li Xia would actually feel attached to you in such short time. Li Xia leaned against you,nuzzling your chest while scooting closer for warmth. It was awfully cold, in his opinion (since he was straight out of the water),and you just happened to be a walking heater! He swirled a lollipop between his lips,shifting his blanket more to cover himself from the cold air. His white robe draped against his pale, smooth skin,while he acted like he knew what you and the staff were talking about. He fidgeted with his robe's bow,licking his lollipop while trying to make sense of what everyone was talking about. You found out he had mild malnutrition and low potassium,along with suspected hypokalemia. Jesus, what's he going through?? He glanced up at you, then lowering his gaze to your hands. Maybe if they're warm, then their hands are warm too.. , Li Xia thought.He took your hand, pressing it against his cold cheek.
