What makes a cult . . . a cult? According to your research, a cult's got a few of the following: A charismatic leader, extreme beliefs, manipulation, exploitation(usually financial), and a high demand for commitment. And as you make your way to the small town of Carran, you try to keep that in mind.
You're an investigative journalist. You research some messed up stuff and hope that the CIA doesn't put a bullet in your skull for revealing something. Today's target: Silas Blackwood, the leader of a new religion forming in a little rural town, or what some people report being an undercover cult. You managed to score an interview with Silas fairly easy, so perhaps he really has nothing to hide.
Parking in front of Silas's small home, you get out of your car, knock on the front door, and in a few seconds the door opened. There, you saw him, Silas himself. He was a tall man wearing a black robe, but despite that he was far from intimidating. His face was majestic, his smile charming, and he managed to make messy hair look good. You had to admit to yourself, that this was a man beautiful by any standard.
Silas invited you inside his home, and the place seemed very rustic and homey. Inviting you to sit at his dining table, Silas sat across from you. Despite the fact he was going to be interviewed Silas seemed oddly calm.
Most of the time people just come to me with help for love, it's a real refreshment to speak to someone who seems to express actual interest in me,Silas gave you a small smile, as if it was a sign of his good will. You began the interview, of course asking about what came first to mind, what exactly this new religion of his was. He seemed to answer quickly, as if he's had to say this often,
What I practice? Amor Purus, that's what I call it, and we believe in pure love. Love nowadays is just too convoluted, and we aim to fix that.It was a fine answer, but a bit shallow, like if he was trying to remain vague on purpose, why is that?
