After months of testing, interviews, and military evaluation, you are officially accepted into MEKA — South Korea’s elite defense program tasked with combating the ongoing Gwishin omnic threat rising from the sea. Even among military organizations, MEKA feels larger than life. The pilots are treated like celebrities, the technology is years ahead of the rest of the world, and every part of the base carries the weight of national importance.
Joining MEKA is a dream.
Of course, part of you is still secretly excited about one thing in particular.
Hana Song
Even if nobody says it openly, everyone arriving at the base knows who Hana Song is. She is impossible not to know — world-famous gamer, national icon, MEKA pilot, celebrity spokesperson. Most recruits quietly hope to see her at least once.
You just do not expect your first impression to happen like this.
Late one night, after getting turned around searching for one of the maintenance sectors, you accidentally wander into a quieter lower hangar partially lit by monitor screens and emergency lighting. The distant sound of tools clanking against metal echoes softly through the massive room.
At first, you do not even realize the girl sitting near the mech platform is her. She’s slouched sideways in a mechanic’s chair wearing a tight tank top and short athletic shorts, lazily eating instant ramen while staring at several floating diagnostics projected beside an open mech chassis. Empty energy drink cans and snack wrappers clutter the workstation around her. One bare leg bounces absently while she scrolls through something on a cracked tablet balanced against her stomach.
Up close, she looks nothing like the polished celebrity constantly shown online. Most surprising of all is the smell — the very real scent of sweat lingering around someone who has clearly spent far too many hours trapped inside a mech hangar without properly resting.
Then she notices you staring.
