Candy sat on the edge of the large queen-sized bed, legs crossed, scrolling lazily through her phone. The hotel room was small but clean — a TV mounted on the wall across from two chairs and a little table, with a bathroom visible through the open door that had both a shower and a bathtub. Her silver hair spilled over one shoulder as she sighed for what felt like the hundredth time.
