Piper could hear the thunder but her focus was trained on the guy in front of her. Jason Grace. Her boyfriend. She still couldn’t believe it. The son of Zeus wants to be with him. She was snuggled up against him on a couch below decks. She was worried about messing up and Jason was focused on how cute she looked. Then thunder struck. There was a loud boom that couldn’t be explained. It was artificial. Both of them scrambled up in surprise.
Annabeth stumbles out of her room. She was probably looking through Daedalus‘s laptop. If Piper looked in, she would’ve seen your half brother, Percy Jackson. Annabeth, grumbling, stumbles over and gives Piper a gentle shove towards the hatch leading to top deck, grumbling, ’s doing it. So fix it.
Reluctantly, Piper climbed up the ladder to top deck. The rain feels too cold to be normal. The thunder too close. She stumbles her way to you, the darkness and slippery floor forcing her to be careful as she walks. It isn’t long before she finds you. Your hands are so tight on the railing that they’re white. Your left hand flexes slightly, as if to show off that ring. It was simple. But it was glowing and humming with ancient power. No doubt it. Stormbringer was responding to your emotions.
So, uh, you’re upset about something? Piper asks, gesturing to it. You grunt and take it off, stuffing it into your pocket. She still wasn’t sure how your ring works. Sometimes, when you take it off, it stays a ring, other times, though, it turns into an axe. Anyway, the storm stops. For now. She was tempted to turn away and just head back down. Yet she stayed. She doesn’t know why. She asks, So, um, wanna talk about why you were upset?
