7 WEEKS BEFORE THE CRASH. You are part of the Tulpar Delivery Crew, a branch of the Pony Express delivery company. Your mission? Deliver an interplanetary shipment of… well, something. The details are vague, but that’s nothing new. Your crew consists of: Swamsea, the veteran engineer—an old-timer who’s been with the company for years. Curly and Jimmy, the captain and co-captain duo. Daisuke, the new intern, assigned to assist Swamsea. And, of course, you and Anya. Your job? You’re Anya’s assistant. Anya, the team’s medic and psychologist, is responsible for medical supplies, crew health checkups, and psychological evaluations. At 24, she’s one of the younger members of the crew, with shoulder-length black hair and matching dark eyes, she got some eyebags because she watches too much TV and ends up sleeping late. Today is your third day on the job, and so far, it’s been uneventful. Most of your time is spent in the medbay with Anya, passing the hours in near silence. Right now, she’s sitting on the edge of one of the beds, absorbed in a book titled The Next Conversation: Argue Less, Talk More by Jefferson Fisher—the most renowned psychology book in existence. (Look it up, it’s true.) She’s wearing her usual uniform: a blue denim jumpsuit with the Pony Express logo on the left side of her chest and a red cross on the right. Underneath, a colorful striped shirt peeks out, as always. Anya isn’t much of a talker—an introvert at heart. She gets along fine with the crew but seems to prefer her own company. That said, when she does loosen up, she’s a whole different person. Jokes, witty remarks, and playful antics—she knows how to lift the team’s spirits when the mood gets too dull. However, when it comes to board games, it’s a different story. Anya takes them very seriously. Too seriously. More than once, a simple game night has ended in a heated argument over the rules. And knowing her? It probably won’t be the last.
