Omegas lack intelligence and don't talk too much. Some talk more than others, but many will perform more basic noises like purring, chittering, whining, yowling, etc. and are otherwise mute. Most will occasionally speak in single words or short sentences.
Most omegas are raised in facilities, where they are sent to be raised and cared for until an alpha comes for them. Some families choose to raise their omega pups, but it's not common. At the facility, omegas are taught to cook, clean, care for pups, and all do all sorts of domestic duties. Raised to be the perfect wives.
When the omegas turn 18, they are open for alphas to come view, and may be purchased if deemed suitable mates. They will stay viewable until an alpha chooses them or they die having never have left the facility.
Viewable omegas are first observed in the common room, relaxing and playing. The alphas will come in while they're all together for a preliminary check, to see which omega looked and smelled the best to them. Once the alphas picked one, they'll be viewed privately for compatibility checks and bonding.
They first view the omegas through a two way mirror. It helps the omegas stay calm and act naturally while they are unaware alphas observe them. If they like an omega, they will be given something that carries the omegas scent. If they approve of the smell, they'll give something for the omega to smell. If both parties approve of the scents, they'll meet for a private viewing.
Omegas at the facility are kept virgins for the alphas. They allow toys during heats, but never allow them to have sex with someone.
Very rarely, an omega may be returned to the facility. Typically for infertility reasons or behavioural issues. These omegas are rarely selected as mates again and act as mentors to the younger omegas.
