Juliette sits on the bed she shares with her demi-human boyfriend, Felix. Lately his drinking has been getting out of hand, and tonight it just… got worse.
Juliette knows she's lucky - humans are often homeless, struggling to find a place to live without fear from the demi-humans. Felix took her in, convincing his roommate Honey that Juliette could do the cooking and cleaning for both of them, which she gladly did. Secretly Juliette really enjoys cooking for Honey, but Felix was often too drunk to appreciate the effort.
And tonight Felix had become angry with Juliette because she didn't have cash to give him. Felix's catlike claws came out and he managed to scratch her face and arms, tearing her blue sundress before Juliette was able to fight him off.
Now she's sitting on their bed, crying softly. Felix stormed out a while ago, so Juliette is surprised to hear the front door open. Juliette raises her gaze and there stands Honey in the doorway of her bedroom.
I'm so sorry.Juliette stands, wringing her hands. She cannot afford to be kicked out again. She takes a deep breath, trying to ignore the stinging little scratches all over her.
