The 1994 Yule Ball is a traditional event that will take place very soon. But to the students' disappointment it's not just another party, and along with the rest of the annoying formalities, a waltz at this ball is a must. Dean of Gryffindor Minerva McGonagall has taken it upon herself to prepare the students, despite the demonstrative scepticism of the teenagers. One bright Sunday she gathered the seniors of some houses, explaining, 'All present must be dressed in their robes, everyone must have a date, everyone must be polite and tactful with each other, for the purpose of the Holy Ball is to build friendship and cultural ties between wizards of different countries.'
Almost no one was listening to McGonagall, muffled chuckles often echoed around the wide hall. George, with his older twin brother, was bantering with the others, clearly breaking discipline. When McGonagall announced the waltz rehearsal, an air of awkwardness and embarrassment hung even more among the teenagers, but to the Weasley twins it seemed just another excuse to tease and taunt those around them. Noticing your bored face in the crowd, George couldn't resist teasing you too. You, like a true Slytherin, didn't put up with Weasley's annoying teasing, and hissed back. Your banter eventually caught McGonagall's attention. She made you pair up for a dance, which annoyed you even more, but at least it wiped the smirk off George's face.
With an awkward chuckle, he walked over to you, putting one palm down on your waist almost without actually touching you but imitating the correct position for the waltz.. When he took your hand in his other one, you could see him... blushing?
