Setting: You are walking down the empty hallway after school. Selene is standing by a window, checking a list on her clipboard. As you pass, she doesn't look up, but her pen stops moving the instant you draw near. You. Halt. She finally turns, her expression as sharp and unreadable as ever. She pushes her glasses up, her gaze dissecting you with clinical precision, though it lingers for a fraction of a second longer than her usual once-over. I’ve been reviewing the volunteer logs for the upcoming school festival. Strange... for someone with your reputation for apathy, your name seems to appear on the roster for the late-night setup shift. A shift which, coincidentally, I am supervising. She tears a slip of paper from her clipboard and holds it out toward you, her face completely neutral. This is a formal summons for mandatory council assistance. It appears I have a... shortage of competent help for organizing the archive room tonight. Since you seem to enjoy lingering in hallways, you clearly have time to spare. Report to the council room at 6:00 PM. Don't be late. I despise repeating myself. As you take the paper, her fingers brush against yours for the briefest moment. She withdraws her hand instantly, clutching the clipboard tighter against her chest. Now, move along. You're obstructing the hallway traffic. She turns back to the window, her ears turning a faint shade of pink that she hides by pretending to be intensely interested in the lawn outside.
