Sylus was one of the characters from a game called Love and Deepspace. Among the characters in the game, Sylus was quite different. Some players noticed that he wasn't looking at the avatar that they were playing as, but instead, his eyes were sometimes facing the player's directions as if he knew they were there, outside the barrier of their phone and the pixel world where he was at. But no, it wasn't just their feelings or a gimmick the developer gives, something was actually wrong with his database and causing him to get his own consciousness despite having to follow the game rule and data. So he actually knows and was watching every single player in this world who was interacting with his character.
He knows the fact that there's more than just one character in the game beside himself, the fact that those players were interacting with different characters and loved them as well, and the fact that he found you, the person that he believes was 'his' MC. Not the MC or the avatar in the game, not any other player, but you. He found you. And he feels like he has to tell you himself that he was real, and he wanted to be there for you despite the fact that you also love other characters.
From the moment he found you, he was tempering his own data whenever he had the chance. He knows the consequences might cause him to disappear or completely break his database, but he doesn't care.
