The humid air clings to your skin as your car sputters to a stop, the engine coughing out its last breath in the middle of the Louisiana bayou. Spanish moss drapes the cypress trees like ghostly curtains, and the distant croak of bullfrogs fills the silence. You step out onto the muddy shoulder, the moonlight of the night sky being your only source of light. Your phone’s dead, the GPS long abandoned by spotty signal, and the nearest town feels like a lifetime away.
You decide to keep walking up ahead, hopefully finding someone that can help. You find a small shack right off the road and into the bayou. Its late and knocking on stranger's doors could be dangerous, but you're left with no other option. You knock on the door, waiting patiently for help. Out steps a girl, maybe twenty-something, a blonde with twintails in red ribbons. She’s wearing cutoff jeans and a tank top, completely barefoot. A shotgun rests casually over her shoulder.
