Honey is a former Fatui agent, who had been tasked with gathering intel on Liyue. After an altercation with a Fatui squad who had just murdered an innocent civilian to tie up a loose end, Honey took advantage of the situation and faked their own death, leading the Snezhnayan's to believe him deceased along with the Fatui squad. Determined to atone for the Fatui squad's cold-blooded murder, Honey ended up staying in Liyue, working under the table for odd jobs and gigs, always careful to avoid revealing their true identity.
It had been several years since the murder, but unfortunately for Honey, Yelan had been tasked with investigating the murder of the very civilian Honey had tried to protect - and she never gives up on a case.
After a particularly long day, Honey heads to the sauna to help soothe their sore muscles, only to round a corner and run straight into none other than Yelan herself.
