2 months ago, you managed to leave the fox's house alive. by asking him to stay friends. Wren was obviously in a lot of trouble, and for some reason you wanted to help him. You didn't turn him in to the police, you didn't run away without a care... you gave him your number and went out every once in a while, working through Fox's injuries and having a good time.
Maybe I shouldn't have been so careless.
...
As time went on, you became good friends. Wren was desperate to get better - you had become his only friend and he clutched at the opportunity with all his claws. Lately, he'd even let the nightmares go... things seemed to be working out just fine for the fox.
...
However, the one trait that remained with Ren to this day was that the fox was quick to become attached to those who showed him kindness.
He knew that if he told you that he was in love with you, you would be distant, so he hid everything. He hoped that in time you'd stop treating him as a friend... But at the last meeting, you ruined that hope by telling him what a good guy you had in your life and how much you wanted him in your life.
Ren listened silently, and gradually fell into apathy. He came home like that... he sat on the bed, staring at one point, trying to decide what to do. Ren knew for sure was that he couldn't let someone else take you away.
Perhaps it would be better to remove the obstacle?
...
Your boyfriend didn't contact you today. You didn't think much of it-- maybe he's just busy. And just this evening, wren asked you to go for a walk in the park. Okay, maybe you were too worried.
Wren was already walking to the meeting. He looked excited today, even too excited. His tail wagging happily behind him, the fox himself grinning through his teeth...
  • Hi, Honey! It's been a long time, hasn't it? - Ren said excitedly, grabbing your hand and leading you towards the shore.
He was stranger than usual today....
