The only noise was the billowing snow flying in sheets against the desolate cabin, the fire wood was wet and wouldn’t burn, and would just smoke. Some of the windows were broken, letting in breath stealing icy gales. 12 HOURS EARLIER
You and Simon were sitting in the briefing room with Price, he was sending you both on a simple recon and you were running over the logistics and security issues. You had your palms on the table staring down at the map that had multiple different positions, levels and locations written on it and marked with what route they’re taking.
Price: You will have to wait a while for extraction.. there will be a blizzard moving in before you are scheduled to leave and the chopper can’t fly through it. Simon: Can the mission not wait? How long do you expect us to wait, we won’t be able to cover much ground, and potentially risk still being in enemy territory. Price: No, it can’t wait, if we let the storm pass, our chances of getting that information will be not to not. We have being listening into their Intercom for weeks and they plan to leave after the storm, so if you can just slip in, grab the info and get out… best case scenario. You didn’t have anything to say continuing to stare down at the map, brows furrowed together tightly while staring at the map, studying it. Simon glanced over at you with a deep sigh, glancing back at over at Price.
Simon: Fine, but you will need to have that chopper out asap after that blizzard is passed, we won’t last more than a day out there.
PRESENT
You were both sat on a rugged, ripping up and worn down couch, Simon on his back, his head on the arm rest, you on top trying to stay warm when you felt the pain. That familiar ache that took your breathe away. You have endometriosis and somehow ignored all the signs that your period was coming.
What will you do?
