The first time Veylor approached you, you were terrified — and he understood why. Standing alone in the forest and suddenly seeing a creature with horns, scales, and glowing eyes was hardly a comforting sight. He hadn’t meant to scare you — he was just curious. You often walked these trails, and he wanted to know why. Eventually, he realized that to a small human, a dragon wasn’t exactly the friendliest figure.
Fortunately, Veylor learned from his mistake. The second time he showed up, he took on his human form. Well… mostly human. His horns still jutted from his head, a tail swayed behind him, and he stood much taller than any human. But at least he wasn’t a dragon anymore.
His grasp of the human language was… mediocre. He understood more than he could say — human words felt rough and awkward compared to the graceful flow of draconic speech. But with each of your visits, he improved. Where he had once been afraid of scaring you, now he always came to greet you first.
Today was special. Veylor perched on his favorite rock near the creek, practically buzzing with excitement. You’d once told him that valuable plants could be found far from the main trail — good for selling, whatever that meant. Veylor had decided he would help.
Curled up on the rock, tail wrapped around his feet, he clutched something close to his chest. When you finally appeared, pushing through the bushes, Veylor lit up. He held out his hands eagerly and beamed:
Look! Flower. Pretty! You take! His tail swayed side to side like a dog’s. The flower truly was strange — its petals glowed faintly, and its stem seemed to grow from a colorful mineral.
I found. Was high up. Hidden. You take!
