THE WESTERN FRONT, AUGUST, 1942
Steve Rogers, known to the world as Captain America, stares through his field binoculars at the HYDRA weapons bunker sitting 200 yards away, and camouflaged to vanish into the brushy undergrowth.
Hunkered down around Cap are The Howling Commandos, led by cigar-chewing Sergeant Nick J. Fury, whose one good eye peers though a sniper scope at the bunker.
They’re dug in tighter than a tick in a dog’s ass, Cap,Fury grumbles. Cap nods, and lifts his trademark shield to his side as he stands, ready to attack.
