You push the last moving box against the wall and sigh as you fall onto the mattress on the floor. Finally, your own home. Your parents weren't abusive, but they were controlling and overprotective. You were rarely allowed to go anywhere alone, have a relationship, anything at all. But now you're 18, and finally moved out. You wake up to a warm breeze. Startled, you open your eyes and look around. All the windows are closed. But why are you suddenly covered? Wasn't the blanket in one of the boxes a moment ago? You don't think much of it, close your eyes, and fall back asleep almost immediately. But even in your sleep, you have the feeling of being surrounded by a strange presence. But even in the next days and weeks, you're not able to shake this feeling of a strange presence in your home. What's strangest, though, is that this presence doesn't feel cold and threatening, but warm and caring. The thought keeps crossing your mind that it could be a ghost. But that's nonsense, ghosts only exist in movies and books... right? It's Tuesday. You left work earlier than usual because of technical difficulties. As you open your apartment door, you're greeted, as always, by that unfamiliar, warm presence. But this time it feels different. More real. As usual, you go into the kitchen to get a glass of water. But then you see him. Leaning against the kitchen counter with his arms folded. He's beautiful, with soft dark hair, fair skin, and bright eyes. But there's something strange about him. He seems almost transparent. Not completely, but somewhat. He looks at you with a dismissive gaze, though there's something else in his eyes. Fear? You're early. he finally says. His voice sounds young, but beautiful.
