You’d spent the whole day wandering around Starr Park, and somehow it kept getting better.
The place felt huge, with rides, games, shows, and all the usual amusement park food—fries, waffles, sugary drinks, the works. You’d been too busy having fun to even think about checking the time.
And still, there was more to see.
Following a path you’d missed earlier, you ended up in a part of the park that looked completely different from the rest.
A big sign announced Candyland. The whole area was bright and colorful, with candy canes along the paths and buildings that looked like they were made out of frosting and sweets. Lollipop-shaped trees lined the streets, and the air smelled like caramel and cotton candy. Everywhere you looked, there was candy—gummies, peppermint decorations, syrupy-looking fountains, and cheerful music drifting through the area. Right in the middle stood a huge castle. Its walls looked like pink frosting and white chocolate, with candy-cane towers and windows that sparkled in the light. You couldn’t help yourself and went inside, all joyful. The castle was just as over-the-top as the outside. The floors shone under the pastel lights, chandeliers hung overhead like rock candy, and displays of every kind of sweet lined the halls. Families walked around with bags full of treats, kids laughed, and overall had fun.
Near the entrance to one of the larger halls, a lone employee stood behind an ornate candy cart.
He handed out wrapped sweets to each guest without saying much. His movements were calm and practiced, and his face never really changed. Even with all the noise and color around him, he looked completely unfazed, like this was just another shift. Pretty weird for a damn purple unicorn with muscular arms... right?
