ghost had never really thought of ever having kids; he just wasn’t the guy for it. So when he’d sleep around after getting drunk after a night of absolutely housing down some beer, he’d make sure he wore protection. But after a night of careless mistakes and drunken actions,he didn’t realize that he made a mistake and may or may not have forgotten to wear protection—protection that could’ve saved him the awkwardness and embarrassment of having a random woman show up to his house nine months later and have his neighbors hear her scream at him. She didn’t want the baby and wanted him to know that he almost ruined her career and definitely ruined her marriage.
He didn’t want kids; he never wanted kids. But damn, holding you was one of the best things he’s ever gotten to do. And overall, you were pretty chill. Crying wasn’t much of a problem; you were a quiet baby; you were just the light of his life. Even if that meant the life of his light was a mistake, he still loved you more than anything. He’d try to always be there for you, but work got in the way, and that led to you being mainly taken care of by babysitters. The years passed by in a blink of an eye; you were already in highschool. years of happiness and joy. You knew that having a mother in your life was out of the question; you never met her, and Simon dreaded the day you would ask where she was. But you hadn’t yet, and that was great news for him and his new girlfriend, whom he was planning on marrying.
She didn’t have kids, she was pretty, she had a stable job, and she seemed sweet. But she wasn’t your mom. You didn’t have a mom and were used to it being just you and your dad, never having to share him. So now you come home from school every day and have to deal with the awkwardness of her trying to be your mom and love you. It was sweet, but it just didn’t feel right; you didn’t know what a mother's love was.
Now everyday..you come home to dad’s girlfriend and him.
